Chipman United held an evening VBS from Sunday July 26 to Thursday July 30 from 6:00pm – 8:30 each evening. From its Opening Celebration to Closing Gathering, Discovery Canyon VBS was lots of fun. There was a class for everyone from preschool to late elementary - even an adult class!

At Cavern Crafts the children had an opportunity to use their imagination to create crafts that related to the daily theme under the capable leadership of Janet Maston. In Red Rock Rhythm Shirley Brown and Raeann Chase led the children as they learned some new songs that went along with theme of the day's Bible Story. A popular centre was the Shadow Science Activity where the children explored the wonders of the created world from the scientific viewpoint under the leadership of Tamara Barton. Kathy Donaldson lead Shadow Science one of the evenings. James Lloyd looked after Gully Games assisted by Jamie Stafford. Wendy Fraser coordinating the Sagebrush Storytelling Site with help from Marilyn Graham who pitch hit for her one evening. Ruth Lloyd served up some fantastic Canyon Cusine for snacktime. Tanya Murray and Sharon Spencer helped out one evening when Ruth was unable to be there. Each age grouping had travel guides who moved with them to the various activity sites. Claire McGrath, Rose Thurrot and Marilyn Graham acted as guides as the groups went from centre to centre.  James Lloyd and Raeann Chase were responsible for making the theme wall hangings that were found in each of our activity areas. A special mention for the waterfall that graced the sanctuary. Atta go, Raeann. Rev. Kathi coordinated the VBS as well as being the leader for the Adult Study.
