 Camp Wegesegum located in Chipman is held in trust jointly by the Maritime Conference of the United Church of Canada and the Atlantic Baptist Convention. The Camp is operated by an Alumni Board as Camp Wegesegum Incorporated. The Pastoral Charge has a long standing relationship with the Camp with many of our parishioners and ministers having camped, provided leadership or served on its Board. For many years we held a weekend Family Camp on the site so most of our church family has experienced a connectedness to God through the peace and beauty of Camp Wegesegum and the sense of Christian community that is engendered there.
In 2008 we entered into a partnership with the Board to hire a full time Administrative Assistant to share between us. We were approved for funding and Raeann Chase was the successful candidate.
The Board approached us to operate its Day Camp for the 2009 season. We were pleased to be asked and are looking forward to offering "Handle With Care: A Camp with a Creation and Environmental Focus" from August 24-28 this summer.
We hope to continue to strenghten our ties with the Board and our support of Camp Wegesegum in the future.
