SHINE! 2010

What a night ! Author Rick Cameron shared teachings from his book  "Beyond the Bog". In "Focus on the Goal Not  the Obstacle", Rick showed us how being preoccupied with the barriers we think are preventing us from getting where we want to be allows them to grow from small stones to hugh bolders.  On the other hand, a positive attitude and keeping attention on our goal invites opportunities into our lives that are life giving and help us to move toward the life we want. "Finding the Shortest Path to Contentment" included a meditative exercise in which we experienced the feelings of happiness we are seeking in life. By remembering the feelings we experienced in the exercise we can use them as an indicator to determine if the path we are on is leading us to a place of contentment. "There's More to the World Than Just You" reminded us that in doing for others, both we and they benefit Making a difference in the lives of others makes a different in your own life.

Lindsey Fraser of Relief Massage Therapy gave us some insights into the benefits of thereputic massage and, in addition to a demonstration, offered the opportunity for participants to try it out. After the presentations her massage chair was very busy.

Christina Derier of Epicure offered us many hints for Family and Friends Over evenings. Her display table was popular as participants asked her questions about the products and sampled her yummy cheese dip served in a warm loaf of bread.

While we were enjoying the talks, caterer Waneta Davidson and her staff for the evening of Chipman Forest Avenue High School Grads were preparing a delectable offering of finger foods for our sampling. Hot and cold dips from Epicure and M&M Meats added  interest to the plates of hot hors d'ourves, vegetable and fruit trays.

Mistress of Ceremonies, Cynthina Richards drew door prizes courtesy of The Queen's County Inn, Chipman Flower and Gift/ Just Us Fitness, Dee's Diner, Relief Massage Therapy and Epicure, before thanking all the parties who had made the evening such a success!
