Music Ministry

There are two choirs in the pastoral charge both directed by organist Shirley Brown. Voices United is the congregational hymn book at both points. The choirs have More Voices for their use. We have a multimedia projector which is used in both sanctuaries to enhance the worship experience. We have music licenses from CCLI, One License and LicenSing.

The Chipman United Choir practices Sundays after church. Their repertoire centres around traditional church music with a touch of gospel and contemporary. In addition to our regular choir selections special music is offered from time to time by The Chipman Trio, The Belltones, Jim and Wendy Beckett, and soloists: Randy Roberts, Stella McCourt, Tanya Murray, Kelsey Best, Chelsie Doherty, Cathy Donaldson, Elsie Dorion and Lynn Clark.

The Gaspereau Choir is a smaller group who alternate between belting out Gospel favourites at their SINGspirational service to the quiet reflective music of a candlelight Taize service. They also have seasonal Celtic Services. The choir practices Tuesdays from 6:00-7:00 pm. Special Musical Guests this past year has included Charlie and Jane Smith, Tanya Murray, the Becketts, Rhonda and Lindy Doiron and the Smith Family.

Our choirs participate in our pastoral care ministry by providing soothing music for funerals. They join in willingly in ecumenical and community choir endeavours. This past year the Village’s Living Christmas Tree, "The Joy of Christmas", featured music written by our own Wendy and Jim Beckett.
Both Choirs welcome new singers. Contact Shirley Brown 339-9096 if interested.
